SLI-Consulting to announce entry-level enterprise class data storage product at StorageVision 2003

22 September, 2003 - Sydney - SLI-Consulting Pty. Limited, a wholly Australian-owned data storage specialist will launch a new data storage product designed for the intensive demands of todays applications at IDC StorageVision 2003 to held on 23 September, West in Hotel, Sydney.

The X22 (SN-1600-IFT) combines uncompromising data-protection and exceptional data throughput and is the latest implementation of 2Gb RAID controller technology to be integrated into the StorageNetwork SN-1600 family of enclosures.

According to SLI-Consulting’s Principal IT&T Consultant, José Goldmann, the product offers a fully featured entry level enterprise class solution to a broad range of markets. “The X22 is scalable, modular and very versatile as it can be deployed across a broad range of functions in the enterprise such as but not limited by departmental, meassaging, engineering, manufacturing, DB, CRM, post production.

“The StorageNetwork SN-1600-X22 is an excellent SAN entry point and the X22 is ideally suited to today’s dynamic business environment,” Mr. Goldmann said.

The X22 provides exceptionally high performance of up to 380MB/sec RAID 5 and operational performance levels exceeding 90,000 IOPs. Featuring RAID levels 0, 1 (0+1), 3, 5, 10, 30 and 50, the 5251F is engineered with fault-tolerant active-active redundant configuration, dedicated/global hotspares and 72 hour battery protected disk cache.

Hot-swappable controllers, fully redundant components and the ability to manage and maintain over 16 TB of storage data further enhance the robustness of the product’s design. The Java-based RAIDWatch GUI manager is rich in configuration options and allows users both in-band and out-of-band management. Event Monitor provides system managers with the freedom of a real-time and flexible array monitoring.

The SN-1600-X22 enclosure has 16 hot-swappable disk drives in just three standard units of rack space; industry leading capacity in this form factor. Designed with hot-swappable data path logic, power supplies, cooling modules and enclosure management functions this fully redundant array is designed to meet the demands of 24/7 operation.
