SLI-Consulting adds world’s first 750 GB enterprise hard drive, Seagate Galaxy Series, to its StorageNetwork range

Sydney, 25 September 2006- SLI-Consulting Pty Limited today announced that it has added Seagate Technology LCC NL35 enterprise hard drive to its Fibre Channel and SATA range of StorageNetwork subsystems. The incorporation of the 250, 500 and 750 GB Seagate Galaxy NL hard drives further extends the SLI-Consulting range of data storage solutions for its customer base in Data Centre, Post Production, Earth Resources, Medical Imaging and military industries throughout Australia, New Zealand and  Asia-Pacific.

Incorporating the Galaxy NL35 Series into SLI-Consulting’s StorageNetwork range of high performance storage devices will provide a range of benefits for enterprise customers.  Seagate's newest 7,200 rpm hard drive satisfies the requirements of:

  • D2D (disc-to-disc) backup/recovery storage
  • Virtual tape backup/recovery storage
  • Fixed-content storage for image and document management
  • Lower-tiered storage of regulatory compliance or other reference data
  • Video archiving for security/surveillance and video distribution

The disk drive is built on a proven drive design with demonstrated enterprise class reliability and product quality.

Technical Specifications

The Galaxy NL35 750 GB SATA-3 hdd inclusion allows SLI-Consulting’s StorageNetwork RAID array SN-5402E-SAS to scale up to 45 TB within 10U of standard 19” rack space.

  • 16-bay Fibre Channel and SAS/SATA array - 12 TB in 3U standard 19” rack space
  • 12-bay Fibre Channel and SAS/SATA array - 9 TB in 2U standard 19” rack space

Pricing

An 9 TB StorageNetwork FC RAID Array (SN-5402E-SAS) starts from $33,900 - 18 TB starts from $57,900.

A 9 TB StorageNetwork NAS/iSCSI appliance (SN-1235) starts from $19,990.
