SLI-Consulting adds world’s first 300 GB enterprise hard drive, Hitachi Ultrastar, to its StorageNetwork range
Sydney 12 July 2004 - SLI-Consulting Pty Limited today announced that it has added Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) Ultrastar 10K300 enterprise hard drive to its Fibre Channel and SCSI range of StorageNetwork subsystems. The incorporation of the 300 GB Hitachi Ultrastar hard drive further extends the SLI-Consulting range of data storage solutions for its customer base in Data Centre, Post Production, Earth Resources and Medical Imaging industries throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific.
Incorporating the Ultrastar 10K300 into SLI-Consulting’s StorageNetwork range of high performance storage devices will provide a range of benefits for enterprise customers. Hitachi's newest 10,000 rpm hard drive satisfies the requirements of mission-critical storage applications such as online transaction processing, data analysis and media streaming. The disk drive is built on a proven drive design with demonstrated enterprise class reliability and product quality.
"Hitachi Ultrastar hard drives will help StorageNetwork customers realise greater operational savings, whilst improving their data storage capabilities,” outlined José Goldmann, Principal, SLI-Consulting. “With proven reliability and a low total cost of ownership, Hitachi Ultrastar drives add substantial value to the StorageNetwork solution and make it an ideal choice for customers requiring a fully scalable and cost-effective data storage environment.”
“We are extremely pleased to be working with SLI-Consulting to broaden the reach of Hitachi’s new 300GB Ultrastar drive and deliver industry-leading storage capacity to a range of enterprise customers throughout Australia and New Zealand,” said Pete Andreyev, Vice President of Asia Pacific, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies.
Today’s announcement also reinforces SLI-Consulting’s commitment to its OEMs and Systems Integrators.
“Our move to be one of the first subsystem manufacturers to provide full integration with the Ultrastar 300 GB enterprise hard drive is highly strategic,” continued Goldmann.
“This provides a solid opportunity for our OEMs and Systems Integrators to capitalise on being able to offer similar levels of data storage capacity with no decrease in operating performance and a 52 percent footprint reduction all at a saving of up to 23% when compared to 146 GB hdd deployment,” Goldmann concluded.
The SLI-Consulting StorageNetwork range of modular, scalable and redundant storage enables the provision of high density NAS, SAN and traditional DAS solutions. These Open System OS independent products combine high performance with un-compromised data reliability.
